Collective Haul – Drug Store + High End

Today I thought I would share a collective haul from both the drug store and the higher end stores. In the beginning of the month I turned 22 and received some extra cash for my birthday and I thought no better way to spend some extra money like going shopping for makeup, my fav! Here is what I picked up!

haul

**All of these products came from CVS or Sephora**

– Naked Skin Foundation (Shade 0.5)

So far I have been LOVING the Naked Skin Foundation… It may be my new favorite. This foundation really is a dry skin girls dream. The finish of this foundation is not only absolutely beautiful but also includes a bunch of healthy benefits for your skin as you wear it.

As stated on the Sephora Website:

This formula helps skin achieve a natural, illuminated and bright finish— like the beautiful skin you were born with. Naked Skin is formulated with light-diffusing spheres, transforming you to look professionally retouched. Buildable coverage allows women to customize their look. Available in a meticulously calibrated range of shades, Urban Decay’s precise shade numbering system does poetic justice to both warm tones (ending in “.0”) and cool skin tones (ending in “.5”). The finish is matte, never flat, and luminous, but not shiny.

Covergirl Eyeliner (Black)

This was a repurchase and I freaken love this- I will never ever buy a different eyeliner.

-Tony Molly Red Wine Face Mask Sheet

I have not had the chance to try this yet but when I do I will let you guys know what I think.

-Sephora Rose Eye Mask

If you would like to see a review of this product look at my previous blog post, I talk all about this fun product!

-Bite Beauty Matte Lipstick (Glace)

Can we say Kylie Jenner’s signature color. If you guys love the dusty mauve colors give this a try. It is not drying and the wear time is incredible.

-Clinique Dark Spot Corrector

I have been using this product for about 2 1/2 weeks and I plan on doing a FULL review on this. This product does take time to start seeing full results so I am going to continue to use it for another month or so and then report back with what I think about it- is it worth the money or not.

-L’oreal Mascara (Black)

I purchased this because I needed a new mascara and wanted to try something new from the drug store. I don’t love it but I don’t hate it either. It makes my lashes super long but be careful this stuff can start getting clumpy…fast!

Have any of you tried these products?? If so let me know in the comments below how you liked them!

Sephora Eye Masks- Review

Good Afternoon My Lovely Followers,

Today I thought I would do a mini review on a product a just recently discovered. A few weeks ago I placed an oder on the Sephora website with some things I ran out of… until I was just about to check out and something caught my eye. Sephora just recently came out with there own brand of eye masks! I immediately clicked on the image to see what this was about. When I clicked on the picture I noticed that they had a bunch of different masks for everyones under eye concerns. There are a total of 8 masks that retail for 5 dollars each, not bad!

new mask

Green Tea Mask : Relaxing & Refreshing

Lotus Eye Mask- Smoothing & Moisturizing

Honey Eye Mask- Nourishing & Balancing

Pomegranate Eye Mask- Fatigue & Energizing

Lingzhi Eye Mask- Anti-aging & Smoothing

Ginseng Eye Mask- Toning & Revitalizing

Pearl Eye Mask- Brightening & Perfecting

Rose Eye Mask- Brightening & Hydrating

The one I picked up was the rose eye mask. I loved the hot pink packaging and the benefits it claimed to give. I decided to do this mask on a night that I really needed to relax. Lately my sleeping schedule is off, and this was the perfect pick me up.

rose

As stated on the Sephora website these masks:

“Each of these masks is infused with a different active ingredient for relaxing the delicate skin around the eyes and achieving a brighter, more revitalized eye look. The fiber masks perfectly hug the small contours under the eye for better penetration of the active ingredients.”

Now when applying these mask you want to make sure your face is makeup free and you have clean skin. You want to remove the protective film that is attached to the mask and place them under each eye. You then want to leave the eye mask on for about 15 minutes then peel them off. After you take them off you want to pat the excess product into your skin. No rinsing is involved.

Okay, now time for my review! First off the packaging to this product is so darn cute! I love how each mask has it’s own color packaging which makes it fun. I loved all bright colors. When I first opened the mask the first thing I noticed was how wet each individual eye mask was. It was a little slippery getting them out of the packing but once I did I was good to go. I did exactly as the website said and pealed back the film attached to the mask and placed them under each my eyes. I was thinking that each eye mask was going to be relatively small but that is not the case. These under eye masks are huge, covering a good section of that under eye area! I didn’t mind at all though. I let them sit on my face as I watched some of my favorite Youtubers and shortly after I removed them. I patted the left over product underneath the eye area and waited until morning to see my results in more natural lighting.

eye mask

Now do I think this product is life changing, no…. but I did love how hydrated that area was the next morning. I didn’t see any dramatic changes but maybe if I use them once a week or more often I will start noticing better results.

Overall I liked the idea of these masks. I loved putting them on and just relaxing. I will definitely buy more of these in future when I feel I need something extra to help with those long weeks ahead of me.

Have any of you tried these masks? What did you think? Did you notice any changes? Let me know in the comments below, also stay turned for my collective Sephora haul coming in my next post! Hope everyone has a lovely rest of the day!

The Ultimate Summer Glow- By Eating Healthy !

Hello My Wonderful People,

Today I am going to be talking about how to get that perfect summer glow by eating foods that are packed with a bunch of healthy benefits. While makeup is fun, what really matters is what we put into our bodies that give us the end result of a clean canvas.

Most people think that skin care is the most important step to achieve this, but actually it’s our diet. A poor diet can not only affect how you feel throughout the day but it can also play a role in how you look.

When looking for inspiration for different recipes I go to a website called ALOHA. This is a brand stands for maintaining a healthy lifestyle while eating great and feeling great. They stride for quality, simplicity, honesty and design. They believe in using the highest quality ingredients while still remaining simple and quick.

“We believe that the best nutrients come from whole foods, but even the most health conscious among us aren’t able to get everything our body needs from food alone. ALOHA provides the nutritional support you need to help maintain your already healthy lifestyle — plus a little nature-made oomph, just for good measure.”

When you log on there website is packed with different yummy recipes to try—- everything thing from breakfast, snacks, smoothies and even deserts! When looking for new recipes to try I find myself constantly logging onto their website and getting new inspiration/ ideas….. If you haven’t already check out the desert recipes ….say hello to chocolate paradise!!

Here are some of my favorite things to eat to maintain my healthy glowly skin!

Avocados- If there is one thing you need to know about me it is that I am an avocado lover! I can’t get enough of them. Avocados are extremely good for you. They are known to help promote healthy skin, weight loss, and cardiovascular health. The reason I love snacking on these instead of junk food is because these babies will give your skin the extra moisture you need- making your skin super soft and hydrated- SCORE!

Another plus about avocados is that you can cut them up and throw them in a salad, make a face mask with them, put them in as an extra ingredient with your favorite smoothie and even create a healthy guacamole. YUM!

av

Salmon-  Another food I enjoy eating especially during the summer is seafood. My favorite is salmon. The reason why I love making this for dinner at least once a week is because of all of the benefits it has. If you didn’t know eating salmon can put you in a better mood, help with maintaining healthy hair and skin all while giving your body the proper amount of vitamins, minerals and proteins.

My favorite way to have salmon is cooked on the grill. I put a small amount of pepper and lemon juice on it and let it cook for about 15 minutes. For side dishes you can make sweet potatoes, brown rice, or green beans. This dinner is extremely easy and quick to make if you’ve had a long day at class or work. Simple and easy is my kind of dinner!

fish

Green Tea-  My next favorite would have to be green tea. Your probably thinking what? But no I am serious!! I have a cup of green tea every single night. Not only does it help with your glowly skin it helps your mood as well. After a stressful day at work I find myself more relax after I drink a cup. The reason for this is because green tea provides your body amino acids that create waves in the brain that help you relax. Green tea does contain caffeine so I recommend the decaffeinated one.

The list of benefits that green tea provides could go on and on.

Looking for another way to use your extra tea bags? Try using your green tea bags as an under eye mask! it will help you with puffiness, and dark circles. After a late night- this is the perfect de-stresser.

Pomegranates If you guys have never had pomegranates you need to try them— right now! This fruit is so darn good and so darn messy but in my opinion it is worth it! Pomegranates are another fruit that has many different benefits, along with helping your skin it can keep your heart healthy, act as a weight control aid, and even boost your immune system! Pomegranates are packed with vitamin C which can help with inflammation of the skin, roughness, and even acne!! This fruit is mostly seen in the summer time months so every summer I make sure I pick these up! With all the healthy benefits who wouldn’t?!

pom

If you don’t wanna eat them plan try taking a handful of them and sprinkle them on top of your oatmeal in the morning or even throw them in a glass of water for some extra flavor. One of my favorite things to do in the summer is throw my left over fruits in my water bottle and carry it around all day. Super yummy!!

What about you ? What are some of your all time must have foods to eat to not only help with your skin but help your body/ lifestyle as well? Let me know in the comments below. Also if you have any super yummy recipes to share please let me know. I am always on the hunt to try and experiment with new things!

My Top Favorite Liquid Lipsticks( Kylie Jenner Inspired) + I’m Back!!

Well good afternoon everyone!

It has been a hot minute since I have posted!

I am so happy to be back on WordPress again. This month has been nuts! As I had mentioned in a previous post a few weeks back most of my time as been consumed by summer courses and working. Remind me never to take a math course in the summer… ever haha. I can’t believe it is almost the middle of August and summer is soon going to be coming to an end! Time is literally flying.

Today I thought I would share some of my favorite liquid lipsticks at the moment. As everyone knows this liquid lipstick trend is running wild right now. Almost every time I step into a department store or even the drugstore I see that almost every brand now makes them. Hey, I’m not complaining… lipsticks are my weakness. This summer I have been obsessed with the Kylie Jenner lip phase that everyone is going through. Kylie wears colors that are brownish and nude.

ky

When buying a liquid lipstick I make sure they aren’t super drying and remain comfortable on the lips. I want something that will last me through my busy days so I wont have to keep reapplying constantly, thats the worst!

Summer Time DIY For Breakouts, Oily Skin & Sunburns!

Hello Girls!

I have been completely MIA for the past week! I just recently started my summer 2 classes and I have been super busy with homework and work. I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July weekend and got to spend some time relaxing and enjoying the company of friends and family!

For today’s post I am going to share three super easy DIY’s. I am going to share a spot treatment for those stubborn breakouts, the perfect toner for the hot summer months, and a recipe on what to do if you get a bad sunburn from spending to long at the beach.

For Breakouts( Milk & Honey Mask)

honey

1 tablespoon brewers yeast

1 tablespoon milk

1 tablespoon honey

3 oz. plain yogurt

rosewater

Mix the yeast and milk into a small bowl. Put the bowl by a sunny window and let it sit there for about 30 minutes or until it starts to bubble. Then go in and start whisking in the honey and the yogurt. Dab on your blemishes and wash off after 10 minutes. If you didn’t know yeast kills bacteria so this spot treatment/ mask is perfect thing to put on those breakouts that you just want gone!

For Oily Skin ( Cucumber Toner)

colling

1/2 cup cucumber juice

4 tablespoons of witch hazel

Take the juice out of the cucumber and mix it with the witch hazel. Rub the mixture on a cotton ball and apply to face. This will help detoxify your skin while cleaning out your pores and absorbing all that excess shine. You can also store this in a spray bottle and throw it in the fridge whenever you need a refreshing pick me up. Perfect for summer!

For Sunburns ( Strawberry/ Yogurt Combo)

sun

A handful of strawberries

1/3 plain yogurt

Mash the strawberries until they form a smooth paste. Then go ahead and add in the yogurt. Slather this mixture onto your burns and rinse off after 15 minutes. The strawberries will help with the sting while the yogurt will help soothe the skin. You can keep this recipe in the fridge for up to three days and use it as a leftover treatment for the next day!

Makeup Trend Alert- Strobing ?!

Strobing is all about enhancing your features by only using a highlighter. When doing this technique you want to only focus on where the natural light hits your face and apply a highlighter there to amplify it. This new trend is anti-contouring. Below shows the difference between the two trends:

Kylie-Jenner

This new trend is so quick and easy to do. It’s perfect in the summer time if you want to fake that goddess glow or if your in a rush. Here how to achieve this look.

strobingFresh Face: When you are doing this look you need to remember that is more of a natural look. You aren’t going to be using matte powders etc. Instead you are going to do the opposite. You want to have more of a dewy and luminous glow to your face. Grab your moisturizer and pick your favorite dewy foundation and start applying like your normally would.

Highlight: This is the most important step. When applying your highlighter you want to remember that you are only highlighting places that the light would naturally hit your face. Dab your highlighter on the on the apples of your cheeks, the bridge of your nose and the cupids bow to highlight the main areas of your face. You want to then go in and start applying the highlighter on your brow bone, inner conners of your eyes and the center of your chin.

*** If you want to leave the look like this that is fine, if you want it to appear even more natural go ahead and grab a beauty blender with no extra foundation on it and start gently dabbing over the areas that you highlighted. Make sure you are doing this step carefully. ****

Here are some products that I recommend to achieve this glowly look :
