I have been completely MIA for the past week! I just recently started my summer 2 classes and I have been super busy with homework and work. I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July weekend and got to spend some time relaxing and enjoying the company of friends and family!
For today’s post I am going to share three super easy DIY’s. I am going to share a spot treatment for those stubborn breakouts, the perfect toner for the hot summer months, and a recipe on what to do if you get a bad sunburn from spending to long at the beach.
For Breakouts( Milk & Honey Mask)
1 tablespoon brewers yeast
1 tablespoon milk
1 tablespoon honey
3 oz. plain yogurt
Mix the yeast and milk into a small bowl. Put the bowl by a sunny window and let it sit there for about 30 minutes or until it starts to bubble. Then go in and start whisking in the honey and the yogurt. Dab on your blemishes and wash off after 10 minutes. If you didn’t know yeast kills bacteria so this spot treatment/ mask is perfect thing to put on those breakouts that you just want gone!
For Oily Skin ( Cucumber Toner)
1/2 cup cucumber juice
4 tablespoons of witch hazel
Take the juice out of the cucumber and mix it with the witch hazel. Rub the mixture on a cotton ball and apply to face. This will help detoxify your skin while cleaning out your pores and absorbing all that excess shine. You can also store this in a spray bottle and throw it in the fridge whenever you need a refreshing pick me up. Perfect for summer!
For Sunburns ( Strawberry/ Yogurt Combo)
A handful of strawberries
1/3 plain yogurt
Mash the strawberries until they form a smooth paste. Then go ahead and add in the yogurt. Slather this mixture onto your burns and rinse off after 15 minutes. The strawberries will help with the sting while the yogurt will help soothe the skin. You can keep this recipe in the fridge for up to three days and use it as a leftover treatment for the next day!
