The Ultimate Summer Glow- By Eating Healthy !

Hello My Wonderful People,

Today I am going to be talking about how to get that perfect summer glow by eating foods that are packed with a bunch of healthy benefits. While makeup is fun, what really matters is what we put into our bodies that give us the end result of a clean canvas.

Most people think that skin care is the most important step to achieve this, but actually it’s our diet. A poor diet can not only affect how you feel throughout the day but it can also play a role in how you look.

When looking for inspiration for different recipes I go to a website called ALOHA. This is a brand stands for maintaining a healthy lifestyle while eating great and feeling great. Here are some of my favorite things to eat to maintain my healthy glowly skin!

Avocados- If there is one thing you need to know about me it is that I am an avocado lover! I can’t get enough of them. Avocados are extremely good for you. They are known to help promote healthy skin, weight loss, and cardiovascular health. The reason I love snacking on these instead of junk food is because these babies will give your skin the extra moisture you need- making your skin super soft and hydrated- SCORE!

Another plus about avocados is that you can cut them up and throw them in a salad, make a face mask with them, put them in as an extra ingredient with your favorite smoothie and even create a healthy guacamole. YUM!

Salmon-  Another food I enjoy eating especially during the summer is seafood. My favorite is salmon. The reason why I love making this for dinner at least once a week is because of all of the benefits it has. If you didn’t know eating salmon can put you in a better mood, help with maintaining healthy hair and skin all while giving your body the proper amount of vitamins, minerals and proteins.

My favorite way to have salmon is cooked on the grill. I put a small amount of pepper and lemon juice on it and let it cook for about 15 minutes. For side dishes you can make sweet potatoes, brown rice, or green beans. This dinner is extremely easy and quick to make if you’ve had a long day at class or work. Simple and easy is my kind of dinner!

Green Tea-  My next favorite would have to be green tea. Your probably thinking what? But no I am serious!! I have a cup of green tea every single night. Not only does it help with your glowly skin it helps your mood as well. After a stressful day at work I find myself more relax after I drink a cup. The reason for this is because green tea provides your body amino acids that create waves in the brain that help you relax. Green tea does contain caffeine so I recommend the decaffeinated one.

 The list of benefits that green tea provides could go on and on.

Looking for another way to use your extra tea bags? Try using your green tea bags as an under eye mask! it will help you with puffiness, and dark circles. After a late night- this is the perfect de-stresser.

Pomegranates If you guys have never had pomegranates you need to try them— right now! This fruit is so darn good and so darn messy but in my opinion it is worth it! Pomegranates are another fruit that has many different benefits, along with helping your skin it can keep your heart healthy, act as a weight control aid, and even boost your immune system! Pomegranates are packed with vitamin C which can help with inflammation of the skin, roughness, and even acne!! This fruit is mostly seen in the summer time months so every summer I make sure I pick these up! With all the healthy benefits who wouldn’t?!

If you don’t wanna eat them plan try taking a handful of them and sprinkle them on top of your oatmeal in the morning or even throw them in a glass of water for some extra flavor. One of my favorite things to do in the summer is throw my left over fruits in my water bottle and carry it around all day. Super yummy!!

Homemade Fudgey Brownies

I wanted to share a homemade fudgey brownie recipe! I am a huge chocolate lover and making brownies is one of my favorite things to do when I am at home just relaxing.  Here is the perfect recipe for those brownie lovers just like me!

Ingredients

10 tablespoons unsalted butter

1¼ cups pure cane sugar

¾ cup natural unsweetened cocoa powder

½ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon baking powder

2 large eggs

1½ teaspoons vanilla extract

⅔ cup flour

2 ounces dark or semi-sweet chocolate

Bake in oven at 350 degrees and let them cook for about 35 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean after you stick it in the center. Let them cool for about 20 minutes and serve!
